About Phill
- Phil is a Level 5 Master Club Coach, Licensed, Insured, DBS checked and First Aid trained. Phil is the North of England Coach of the Year 2020 R-up and Cheshire Coach of the Year 2019 Phil has worked at academies abroad with 2 years coaching in Spain, Australia, New Zealand, USA and Singapore. Previous to this Phil was the Junior Co-ordinator at David Lloyd Manchester for 3 years. Phil started as an assistant coach while still at college aged 17. The knowledge he gained from his time studying sports psychology and physiology at the University of Manchester has helped him to develop many county juniors. Phil has lots of energy on court and makes sessions both fun and enjoyable for everyone and keeps up to date with the latest technology including video analysis. Phil has coached a variety of pupils from three years old right up to eighty three and also some celebrities along the way including Sir Cliff Richard. Phil is the Head of Cheshire Tennis LTD and Head of Tennis for Bowdon LTC which was the Cheshire County Club of the year in 2017. Phil is also a qualified coach Mentor with the LTA and has trained up over 100 Teenagers to become qualified Tennis Leaders over the last few years. Phil also still competes regularly and won the Cheshire Men’s Over 40’s Singles and Doubles titles in March 2020. Phil’s favourite player of all time is Andre Agassi and his favourite shot is the slice Backhand.
